Been busy with work and MSc degrees over the past few years, though I've been sculpting and working on things on the side. I've been looking at concept art and work and trying to replicate it here and there, always from scratch, to reiterate those steps and get those forms done. This one was a quick sculpt based on a video from MLW Creative - specifically this one - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0i8KlfMOmxY&t=11s - that popped up in my feed. I liked the look and thought I'd iterate on it.

I've also been trying to maintain a single program pipeline, so everything here is done in blender, from the sculpting, detailing, polypainting vertex painting), to the groom, compositing etc.
This is an EEVEE render as well, which I thought was pretty cool and really quite nice in overall quality.

Some general notes -

-LIghting is primarily using point lights and an HDRI set at a pretty low strength (like 0.2 or something like that)
-There is a principled volume cube, with a pretty low density (0.04)
-Compositor is also pretty simple - chromatic aberration at 0.041, Film grain with the 16mm Indie Cinema preset at 0.4 and Tune Image and HSV nodes with mild corrections with a final very mild vignette

In general I try to iterate quickly, with most of the sculpts, characters, ideas taking less than a few hours. This one took around 2-3hrs total from sphere to render, though I did spend some additional time fiddling around with grooming and stuff because I had never bothered with it prior to this experiment.
