Trying to flesh out the characters that I have been experimenting with over the past few weeks. It's also a milestone for me, in terms of learning procedural workflows and methods, as at this point I'm utilizing those growth algorithms and general form-finding methods to create environments, characters and scenes.
It's pretty exciting for me because of the almost unexpected results - I like having a basic idea in the back of my mind - but then seeing that change based on propagated geometries and forms.
What I'm also finding interesting is how much earlier, formative experiences seem to subconsciously pop up and influence design decisions. Like the characters suit is sort of inspired by MDK from 1997 which I remember playing extensively upon release. I haven't really thought of that game since, but it seems part of that design language got stuck somewhere in my brain.
