The Arbitrator Unit - thedeluge

This concept was an exploration of the technological level that would be present in the fictional IP that I'm working on. I've never really done a lot of hard surface sculpting or character design, favoring organic forms primarily, so this was definitely an interesting exploration. I think I'm getting closer to settling on a form language for one of the four primary civilizations that would feature in the world I'm building.

Though I have a few dozen pages of concepts and ideas written down, I'm still at that exploratory phase where I'm allowing more free-form conceptual drawings affect or embellish what narrative may be there, or to open up new narrative arcs. In this case, I had drawn a quick sketch some time ago, which looked kinda weird and disjointed but which had an interesting combination of organic and hard-surface qualities. As one of the civilizations that I'm considering is more technocratic and calculating, I thought of how they would probably use an AI for conflict resolution and arbitration.

Initially I was conflicted as to whether this would be a serious, omnipresent type of creation which would pass sterile judgment unequivocally , but as I was developing the character I ended up leaning more towards a more whimsical representation - perhaps something that wouldn't feel out of place in the writings of Douglas Adams.
